Rebekah is 17 months old now. It has been a great time. She is getting bigger and smarter everyday. Last week, we went to the pumkin patch and got a pumpkin. Tonight Rebekah is going Trick or Treat. It should be fun. She is going to be a puppy. She has already been to some parties and went Trick or Treating the other night. Here are some pictures.

I know it has been a long time since I have posted. Trust me, I've heard. Anyways, a lot has happened and I appologize fot the latency. Rebekah is almost a year old now. She is about a week and a half away. She has gotten some teeth, taken her first steps and gotten a lot bigger. Below are some pictures.

This Saturday, Rebekah decided that she needed to lose some of that baby fat. I didn't want to say anything, but I thought maybe she's been hitting the Ho-Ho's and Bon-Bons a little too hard. We went to the gym and met Mr. Carl. He put us on a rigorous workout plan. We started by ringing the bells. The we tried to walk around the mats. We had some exploration time to explore the facilities and workout on the different equipment. After that, we did some tumbles on the mats and closed out with some Bubbles and more bells. Boy were we pooped. I meant that figuratively, she didn't really poop. Not then anyways. It was a fun day at The Little Gym. Rebekah is Hanging out

Rebekah is almost 9 months now. It is amazing. It seems like only yesterday that we were at the hospital and people were coming to see here right after she was born. She is scooting across the floor. She can stand and walk (assisted of course, but it won't be long). She feeds herself at times, even though that can turn into a mess.It's great to spend time just sitting here pondering about how my life has changed. I couldn't imagine what it would be like not to have her around. She is the greatest. Below are some of the latest pictures.

Eight Months Old

Rebekah is now 8 months old. She is getting so big. She is starting to attempt to crawl. She is trying to walk (with help). She can pull herself up to a standing position now too. Monday, the babysitter is off. We get to have Daddy-Daughter day and the both of us are very excited. Today, Rebekah had another first. She got her first head injury (Goose-Egg) at the babysitter's. She is doing OK now, but they said she sure can scream. Enjoy some of the recent pictures of one cute Peanut.

As we close in on Christmas, it gives us time to reflect on the many blessings God has given us over the past year. Of course, our biggest was the birth of Rebekah. As a father, I can now appreciate the love one has for their child. I can't imagine how difficult it was for God to bring Jesus into this world knowing his fate. It's important that we all remember why we have Christmas and to celebrate it together with those that are important to us. We love and cherish each and every one of our family and friends. We want you all to know that. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Rebekah is really starting to grow. She is growing out of her 6 month clothes, she can roll back and forth, sit up and almost drive a car. Yesterday we had our family Christmas pictures done at Sears. After that we went down to hang out with Santa Claus. I must admit. I was very proud of my daughter. She was the one child that did not scream and cry in Santa's ear. She was very intrigued. I think she is excited about her first Christmas. Here are some new pictures of Rebekah. The other night she started to go trick or treating. Unfortunately, Daddy forgot the diapers and pacifier and not much happened. She did get to wear her costume though. She was the cutest Bumble-Bee in town.

Today was an exciting day. Finally, Rebekah got to meet her Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Todd (G-G'pa and G-G'ma). She was so excited. She laughed, she cried, and she slept. It was so very good that we could get the Todd family together. She is looking forward to seeing G-G'pa and G-G'ma again tomorrow. It was great to share with my daughter what great gandparents I have (get it? great...grandparents...great-grandparents.. nevermind). It stinks that it has taken 4 months, since they made the trip to MD this time, we'll have to make the journey to FL next time. We were so excited to see them. Yesterday was Rebekah's first time ever at the fair. She got to see all sorts of neat things that captured her interest. She saw milk cows and beef cows and pigs and piglets. She saw sheep, alpacas, goats, donkeys, turkeys, chickens, and all sorts of other baby animals. She had a blast. Some of the animals were a lttle intimidating and some she found funny. All of them smelled pretty bad though. Here are a couple pictures of the nut at the fair.

The other night we all sat down as a family for one of America's greatest past times. We had pizza and football. The Redskins played the Giants. Rebekah has become such an avid football fan over the pre-season and her dad is so proud. She was so excited for the game that she wore a Redskins cheerleading outfit all day. Unfortunately, the game didn't turn out the way she wanted and she ended up getting angry and going to bed about half way through. She was screaming at the television. I couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth (or even understand them for that matter). Anyways, we captured the a picture of her in her outfit because she was just that good looking.

Jen had a few things to do yesterday, so Rebekah and I got to spend almost all day together. We did a few things. We hung out and watched some TV. We did some tumy time. We went to the mall and got the new Mario Baseball game for the Wii (obviously for Rebekah and not Daddy). Then we came home and played games and watched movies. We laughed, we cried, and we had a good time. Here are some pictures we took yesterday while getting ready to go out.

It's been an eventful couple of weeks. Sorry for the gap in time. She has been hanging out with the kids at daycare and they love her. She has made some good friends. Over the past couple of weeks, we have gotten our shots. Rebekah didn't like them very much. They have affected eating, and sleeping habbits and she didn't feel like going out to the club with the girls on Friday night. Rebekah spent time this past Sunday in the nursery at church for the first time. They said she slept the whole time. I guess she didn't hate it. It is amazing how she changes every day. She now finds some things funny, like peek-a-boo, being tickled, and if she has had enough of the bottle, she even finds daddy funny occasionally. She goes next week for her shots. Here are a few pics from the past week. Rebekah is still growing like a little weed. I think she is doing great in daycare and the past couple of nights, she has been sleeping very well. I'm thinking that daycare is tiring her out a good bit. She's smiling a lot more now at things and becoming very animated. She enjoys playing with the toys on her new play mat that we got her this past weekend. I finally packed up her newborn clothes this weekend. It was very bittersweet. I love to see her grow but I know she will never be that size ever again.

Work has been going pretty good for me too. The first week was the hardest but I made it through and knowing that she is doing very well at daycare has helped me out a lot. Well, gotta run. Jon and I will continue to update this as much as possible. I know we haven't been doing the best at updating but we try :)

This is the first week that Momma has gone back to work and Rebekah has had to stay all day at daycare. Ms. Sherry is a very nice lady and seems to provide Rebekah with a very nice and safe atmosphere. Today they went on a nature walk through the front yard. Yesterday they went outside and looked at the different trees. We are so happy that Rebekah found such a great daycare. She has made many friends there and they are all so nice. They are so sad to see her leave in the evenings. She is so worn out by the time we get her home though. Last night she slept from 9:30 pm - 5 am. It was so beautiful. Jen and I were so happy, we slept all night long. Here are 2 more pictures of our little Nut.

6 Weeks Old Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Rebekah will be 6 weeks old. It's hard to believe that 6 weeks ago today, my body was officially preparing itself for Rebekah's big debut. Time sure has flown by over these past few weeks and I have been amazed every day how much she changes and grows. Unfortunately, I'll be back to work next week and even though I am ready to get out of the house and back to work, I know I'm going to find it very difficult to leave her. I'm sure many working mothers feel the same way. I know we've been slacking on the blog over the past week or so and I do apologize but here are a couple pictures for your enjoyment!!

The past few days have been good for Rebekah. As I stated before, she had her first cookout. She had a lot of fun. She slept, she napped, she ate, and then she caught some Z's. She had a blast. On Sunday, Grandma & Grandpa P came to visit. This was her first time to see Grandma P, and it was exciting. On Monday, she went for her one month checkup (hard to believe it's been a month). He said "She is doing great. She weighs 9 lbs and 13 ounces, and she is 21 inches long." I'm so proud. She's growing up so fast. Before you know it, she'll be 30 years old and dating. Time is gonna fly by so quickly. Anyways, today she went to the office to see the girls. She stayed awake this time since she slept through the last visit. She had fun. I think all the people that wanted to see her kinda went to her head and she thought she was a celebrity. So she started dressing like one (picture below). Today is the fourth of July. It is important to reflect on all that our country has been through. We, The Todd Family, are proud to be Americans in a country that has been through so much and persevered through it all. Americans today take for granted all they have. They forget that there are parts of the world right now where people don't have electricity, fresh water, or even the very freedoms that this country provides, such as freedom of speech, and the freedom of religion. It makes me feel blessed that when God created us, he put us here in America and now he has put Rebekah in this beautiful country. Putting the usual humor aside, please take a moment today to yourself, and thank God for allowing our country to come through all the things we have in our past and thrive the way it does today. That said, of course you get a couple more pictures of the Peanut.

Tomorrow will be one month since Rebekah has started breathing through her nose instead of her scuba hose in her own personal pool. I tend to think that she is happy. She's had a lot of firsts over the past four weeks. There was the time she saw light, the time she ate food from a bottle and she has even had her first car ride. Sh sleeps really well at nights for a newborn. There has been some nights that she decided to be nocturnal. I think she thinks its funny to make noise at night. Everyday continues to be just a little more exciting than the one before. Thanks for taking the time to read. Below is a couple pictures from today. Today was our first day at church for Rebekah. She got all dressed up and was ready to go and then decided that she was hungry. So she was late. We got there and she was listening to the music but when the pastor started preaching, she got bored and took a nap. After looking around, she wasn't the only one. After church, we went out to lunch with Great Uncle Rick and Great Aunt Elaine. She was so happy to finally meet them, she celebrated with a nap. It was a good lunch and this time I remembered the kid and the leftovers. Good Stuff!!! Anyways, below is a picture of the Peanut in her outfit for her first day at church.

This was a good weekend for Rebekah. She spent plenty of time outside of the house. As of today she is about two and a half weeks old. Yesterday we went to the mall to get some clothes for mom and dad. Dad has gained a couple pounds and needs new shorts for the summer. Rebekah had a great time being pushed around the mall, Sam's and Panera. Today, we stopped at a couple antiques shops. Rebekah saw a couple items she liked, but since she don't earn no money, she doesn't get to pick out a highchair. She may start looking for work next week. Tonight, she is taking a bath in her "Baby Whirlpool Spa." That's right, a whirlpool for the kid. She's already high maintenance and not even a month old. Anyways, I am posting a new video of her playing with her toys and her unique sneeze. Enjoy.

We finally had a great sleeping night!!! It's been hard trying to get Rebekah down to sleep at night as she really wanted to be a night owl and keep mommy up until 2-3 in the morning. And even though we went shopping yesterday and she slept a good portion of the afternoon, we had an excellent night. I think her playing with her toys in her playpen helped her too. She got her last evening feeding around 8 lastnight. She seemed a little tired but not quite there yet so we put her in her playpen with her toys. She stared at them for a while and probably by 9 she was out. When we went to bed around 9:30, she started squirming around when I put her in her bassinet but she quickly fell back asleep and didn't wake me until 1 o'clock this morning. I quickly changed and fed her but she had a little difficulty falling back asleep. I went back to bed around 2:30 and then we got back up at 5. I was even able to get up and pack my loving husband his lunch for his departure back to work before she started fussing for her breakfast. A very good morning, except for the massive spit up that she did this morning. I think she drank too much...."her eyes were a little bigger than her stomach"!! But the funny thing is after the spit up, she was content again for about 10 minutes and then she needed just a teeny bit more milk to send her back off to sleep. I didn't think she'd be hungry for a while after that but maybe that created a little gap that needed to be filled. :)

First Outing

Today was Rebekah's and Mommy's first day out of quarantine, I mean the house. Since I take such good care of my ladies I decided that they needed to get out of the house and get some clean fresh air and sunshine. It's not good to only sit around the house all the time. So I said "Ladies, get dressed. We are going to the doctor's office."

So they got dressed (picture below) and off we went. Rebekah now weighs 7 pounds and 6.5 ounces. The doctor was very happy with her weight gain. She has great color and her hips work well. No birth marks. She even decided the doctor's office was a great place to crap. It was eerily similar to taking the dog to the vets. After the nurse stuck her in the foot several times to get some bloodwork done, we went to lunch at the Olive Garden. Rebekah slept though. However, I just remembered that when it was time to leave, I grabbed the baby instead of the leftovers. I'm pretty upset right now. Now what am I gonna eat for dinner? I had 2/3 of a Tour of Italy to go. Sorry, a little off topic. On our way home we stopped to get chainsaw blades and then straight home. It was a big day for the Peanut, but I think she enjoyed it for the most part. I think she loved the car ride. Anyways, That's the latest on our nut.

The Todd family now has 3 members, with extensoins in many directions. Jon, Jennifer, and most recently Rebekah Lynn (aka Peanut). We have 2 dogs, Bear and BooBoo. Jen and Jon were married in August of 2005. We live in Boonsboro, MD. Rebekah was born on 6-4-08. She has drastically changed our lives since she has come into the world. She's only been here a couple days, but we instantly fell in love. It is hard to describe the tidal wave of emotions that comes in the first few seconds of staring at your new child. It is indescribable how God can bless us with something so beautiful. It's just one more example of how he shows his love. Anyways, As time goes on, we'll be updating this page so that others can keep track of how our family is progressing. Thanks for visiting.
